From a kid in Saudi Arabia
to the first pro in the UAE.

Six chapters. Twenty-five years. One athlete who refused to quit on the dream.

Chapter 01Age 4–13
Saudi Arabia
A kid who fell in love with the game
Born in South Africa, Chris moved to Saudi Arabia at age 4 when his father joined Saudi Aramco. He discovered baseball through his father's American friends and became obsessed. At 12 and 13 he represented Saudi Arabia at the Little League World Series — competing on ESPN in front of a global audience.
Chapter 02Age 17–22
Pennsylvania · South Africa
The lost years
A baseball scholarship took him to a private academy in Pennsylvania, but he left after one year. For five years he played rugby and cricket, earned a BCom in Financial Management at Stellenbosch University, and barely touched a baseball. The dream was on hold.

The comeback
South African national team player Bles Kemp spotted Chris playing cricket next to a baseball field and refused to stop texting him. The day Chris took a few ground balls and hit a ball out of the park, he knew — baseball wasn't finished with him. He tried out at Scottsdale Community College, got cut, and used it as fuel.
Chapter 042021–2023
Germany · Taiwan
Bundesliga & the World Baseball Classic
Signed with the Paderborn Untouchables in the German Bundesliga. In his third season he hit .412, won Best Batter in Germany, and led the league in total bases. He also represented South Africa at the World Baseball Classic Qualifiers in Taiwan — sharing the field with elite international competition.
Chapter 052019–2021
Dubai, UAE
Personal trainer at Fitness First, The Palm
Between baseball chapters, Chris spent two years as a personal trainer at Fitness First on The Palm in Dubai — coaching clients in strength, conditioning, and body composition. When Covid hit, he used the reset to get back on the field, signing in the German Bundesliga in 2021. NASM certified. AED/CPR certified. The trainer and the athlete have been one and the same ever since.

Building baseball in the Middle East
Selected in the inaugural Baseball United draft, Chris became the only professional baseball player residing in the UAE. He played in the Middle East's first-ever pro baseball game, scored the UAE's first-ever hit in Arab Classic history, and is now building baseball in the region through his own academy. He is not just playing the game here. He is building it.
